I spend a lot of time thinking about why businesses become harder to run than they need to be.
Sometimes it’s growth. Sometimes it’s people. Sometimes it’s systems, processes, customers, margins or the fact that somebody made a perfectly sensible decision eight years ago and everyone has been living with the consequences ever since.
This is where I write about that sort of thing.
Not thought leadership. Not ten ways to unlock your inner CEO. Just observations, ideas, things I’ve learned, things I’ve got wrong and the occasional rant about something that seems unnecessarily daft.
Some of it will be about business. Some of it will be about people. Quite a lot of it will probably be about the strange things that happen when you put the two together.
If any of it makes you look at your own business slightly differently, then it’s done its job.
